Living and Life

Never Too Late

So I did a thing this past weekend. I finished something I started 39 years ago. College. I graduated summa cum laude form Southern New Hampshire University with my Bachelors of Arts in English and Creative Writing. I have been diligently working on it for the past 16 months. There were moments I had to dig deep and find my grit to continue in classes. Life doesn’t happen in a vacuum, so I had to study and write, and then study some more, and keep on writing. A lot happens in 16 months. Amidst the joys and the sorrows, working hard has been a touchstone to keep me focused and grounded. I spent

my life raising my nine children, and quite honestly, sacrificing goals and dreams I had as a girl. But please don’t mistake my message and think I am regretful or complaining, I’m not. Raising our family with my love, David, has been our greatest joy and honor. FOR REAL And we aren’t finished, just yet. Truth be told, we’ll never stop being parents. Each one of our children and their families are a treasure. We are entering a new season of life though, and while I may be a little late, it feels right on time. I’d like to encourage anyone out there contemplating finishing a degree, or a project, or something else they started that means something to them- just do it! You can do it! I confess. being surrounded by wonderful family and friends has helped my journey. It’s a amazing to be supported by people you love! So I encourage you, as long as you are alive, it’s NEVER TOO LATE.
